Difference Between Inspiration, Motivation & Discipline

Motivation, inspiration and discipline are completely different things.

  • When you were slacking on your practice, but then suddenly decide to practice 2-3 hours every day, that’s most likely inspiration that drives you.⁣⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⠀

  • When you manage to go though the first week of your intense new schedule, that’s most likely motivation that moves you.⁣⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⠀

  • When you continue to keep going with your commitment to practice, that’s most likely discipline that pushes you.⁣⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣

What is more important: inspiration, motivation or discipline? - I think that you need to have all three.⁣⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣

  • Inspiration brings that initial idea to change something in your life. It’s that very important decision-making moment.

  • Motivation encourages you to actually take some action steps beyond just dreaming or thinking about new habits or projects.⁣⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣

  • Discipline leads you to results, it pushes you to keep going no matter what. We all have those down days that nothing seams to interest us. Discipline is what holds our hand through those tough times.⁣⁣⁣⁣
